Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPAct 2005)
Federal tax incentive for energy efficiency – a deduction of up to $1.80 per square foot of your building. The Energy Policy Act was signed into law in 2005 and allows you to take a one-time tax deduction of 60 cents per square foot for installing energy efficient lighting. The same deduction may be available for HVAC controls systems.
